Winter is here!!

Winter has officially arrived!  We had our first snow storm which was forcasted to be just a dusting and ended up being 4+ inches. I wish I had a job where I could be wrong 90% of the time and not get fired.  Let's just say that Mother Nature is definitely the boss.  What she says goes.  The above picture was taken in the backyard.  It is a beautiful male cardinal.  We have 4 pairs that visit the feeder frequently and I truly enjoyed to color contrast with the white snow.  The kids played in the snow the minute it fell on the ground and I have to keep calling them in to warm up and dry off before they head out again.  I love to see them enjoying the great outdoors.  As for me, no better time than to get some stitching done.  I haven't taken pictures yet but hope to get to it tomorrow.  Just a reminder to sign up for the giveaway at New England Stitchers Retreat blog, the link is in the previous post.  I will be drawing a name tomorrow after stitching group.
I want to thank all of the bloggers out there who have shared their Christmas decorations.  I enjoyed seeing all of your festive displays.  Everything seems soooo colorful and happy.  I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!  Happy Stitching!

Hi, I am the one from California at the fall retreat. I entered the giveaway. I love following your blog. The snow looks fantastic, better than all the rain we are getting. Look forward to seeing you again in the fall.

What a gorgeous picture of a cardinal in all his frosty glory! They are forecasting snow for Christmas Day here but that is still a long ways off. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Beautiful picture!! I love cardinals. We have a pair who visit us frequently in summer but we rarely seem them in winter. We have about 4-6 inches of snow now and are expecting flurries over the next couple of days. I love the snow but hope the roads are clear for holiday travelling.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We don't have any cardinals here. Those are really beautiful birds.
