As we head into another weekend, yet we are faced with another snow storm. Here is a quick snap of the back yard at the start of the blizzard. Once the winds started up it was a complete whiteout so there aren't any pics of that.
This is a snap of the bird feeder outside of our picture window in the kitchen.
Here is a snap of the Cardinals at the feeder the morning after the blizzard. As you can see the snow was no big deal to them.
Once power was restored to the area and our phone powered up there was a message from the framer. I tried someone new because of location. My other frame shop is just to far to travel so I tried a local framer and he was awesome. Very helpful and his rates were competitive. The first up is Blue Ribbon Designs Read between the Lines. I chose a beaded mahogany finish and I love how it turned out.
Next is my son's bar mitzvah sampler. I don't typically get pieces matted and I never choose gold frames but with the advice of the framer I went for it. I do have to say I dreamt every night about how awful it was going to be until I saw it. It came out beautifully. My son loves it and quite frankly that's all that matters.
This is a close up of the mat and frame. Lovely isn't it?? On the stitching front, not much to report. I finished Block 3 of Shores and moved on to Block 4. I have started a new SAL with Carol but didn't like the fabric so I swapped it out and I am working on some exchange pieces. Thanks for stopping by and visiting. I hope you have a chance to get some stitching done. Happy Stitching!!

Both framed pieces are gorgeous. I have heard the same "advice" on not matting, and I say "bah!" There are times when matting (and gold) are the perfect touch. I do not envy you that snow but it's interesting how the birds adapt.
Beautiful pieces, I especially love the one for your son!
Hope you're managing to stay warm!!
Both frames pieces are so sweet...I love them..
Wow so much snow..I love it :)
Big hugs x
Sorry to hear you are expecting another storm. Well, at least the photos of the snow look pretty! I love your Blue Ribbon Designs framed finish. The frame goes perfectly with the piece.
Carolyn
Lovely frames, and needlework.
What beautiful birds I wish we had them here such a wonderful colour, hugs.
Looks like you've found a knowledgable framer. I'm not mats and gold either but his advice was on the money. Perfect.
Your framed pieces are gorgeous!
Beautiful framed finishes! And love that pretty pic of the cardinals, they are my favorite.
They look great. I'm sure you are happy you followed the expert on that one.
I think your new framer is a keeper. The mat and gold frame are perfect for the sampler!
ooOoo! Not awful at all! They both look fabulous. Great job!
The Bar Mitzvah sampler is beautiful, and the framing finishes it off perfectly! Well done!
Absolutly stunning -- on everything... the snow, the cardinals, and the framings. :) I think you have a new framer -- wonderful work on both. And that bar mitzvah one looks absolutely perfect.
Love your snow pics. Glad the power is back on! Your framed pieces are just lovely; excellent finish on your sons sampler.
Gorgeous finished pieces...the framing choices are excellent!
I love all the snow pictures! Living in Florida...I never get to see that stuff!!
Ugg, all that snow! We are sick to death of it here as well! Well, at least you have some lovely birds to look at. Even if snow is cold, it is beautiful, isn't it?
Love the framing on both pieces! I think the mat really adds to the Bar Mitzvah piece and I'm sure your son loves it. You are a nice mom to stitch it for him.
Have a great one!
Both of your framed pieces look gorgeous. I normally mat my pieces hadn't heard any advice not to. Great pictures of the snow and birds.
I always mat my stitched pieces when they are of a size that matting can be obtained in the UK. I personally think that the right colour can enhance and compliment the piece.
You have chosen beautiful frames. Hang them with pride Nataly
Both pictures look gorgeous and love the snowy pics too :)
Cardinals and snow are so pretty. The framing on both pieces came out great, so congrats on getting a good local framer. CJ in OK
It seems you might get more snow soon! It's not as big a deal for you as for here--they go into panic mode! No one knows how to drive in it! Your pick of a framer was a good one--they did good work! Hugs!
This has been a crazy winter! I just saw all the snow that Kansas and Arizona are getting. Not you're usual!
Your new framer has done an amazing job with your stitched pieces. I love both of them especially the one for your son.
Nataly: Beautiful pieces, the frames are georgous.
Catherine
Congrats on your beautifully framed pieces, they look wonderful.
Wow, that's some crazy weather you've been having! I thought things were finally warming up here, but now there is more talk of snow. The weather never fails to surprise :) Hope you get some lovely stitching time in now your power is back.
Best wishes.
I love how the the bar mitzvah sampler came out. It is perfect. Reading Between the Lines looks great. I have used that molding before and really like it.
Your son's bar mitvah sampler looks amazing, Nataly!! Something he will treasure his whole life, I'm sure...
Hope your storm isn't as bad as was forecast for the weekend--you guys have had more than enough up there this year!
Nataly Both pieces are lovely! He did a great job framing. Your back yarn with all the snow is beautiful! I hate winter but love looking at winter pictures... Have a good weekend. Hope you don't lose power!
Lovely frames! Both pieces look wonderful! Pretty snow pictures!
I love the pictures of the snow. Wish I could sit and stitch and look out at it (notice I didn't say go play in it).
Your framed pieces are beautiful, I love the gold frame with the mat.

Wow those snowy photos are beautiful. I'd love to have more over here but I don't think we'll get anymore now.
Both your framed pieces are gorgeous.
