Shores of HRH Block 3

I am enjoying stitching this wonderful design but this block had lots of tiny x's.  I made one tiny change.  The mermaid was charted to be stitched white but she looked haunted to me so I changed her to a flesh color.  As I am stitching, I long for the warmer temperatures of summer and the relaxing days at the beach.  Here is a picture taken at Duxbury Beach here in my home town.  I hope it brings some sunshine"y" warmth your way.

In my stitching chair I am working on exchange pieces, 1 down 2 to go, working on Lilac Pixie for mom's birthday, started a SAL with Carol and making progress on Block 4.  Do you stitch in rotation??  I find that I can get more accomplished if I plow right through and not get distracted by a new project.  I would prefer to work on only one thing at a time but there are some projects that are portable and others that are not.  My stitching bag travels where ever I go (kind of like a security blanket) even if I don't stitch I know that I can.  What type of project do you travel with??  Mine are usually small with fabric that I can see without lighting.  Usually 28ct or 32 ct.  I find that exchange projects are perfect travel projects. Well, off to start dinner and evening activities with the boys.  Hope you find time for stitching this week! Happy Stitching!

I think the mermaid looks great in flesh can't imagine it white.
I like to work on one project at a time and love to take it with me.

Your progress on Shores is terrific. I, too, cannot imagine the mermaid in white... your choice of thread was perfect. LOVE the beach picture! Hugs!

Great stitchy progress! I like to have more than one project on the go, but not too many. I normally have a kit on aida to do in the evenings, then a larger design on evenweave to work on at the weekends or days off :)
Best wishes.

Your Shores is looking lovely! I started in January, my rendition of Shores, but I started in the middle on blocks 5/6 (the large ship) I'm done with everything except the water...I've been filling in water for what seems like DAYS! Thanks for the tip on the mermaid, I'll be changing mine too....now haunted mermaids for me ;)

I agree with the flesh colored mermaid.
I usually don't stitch in rotation but I have been finding myself working on a couple different designs at once lately.
I have been known to tote my stitching with me but stopped because my doctors have been better about not making me wait in that waiting room so long! I guess that's a good thing, huh?

Beautiful stitching and sunshine (thanks for sharing).

I'm a mood rotator I suppose. I'll go gang busters on something for a while and then *poof* its off to something else-- generally because there's a deadline looming, but sometimes because I just get bored. I too carry small stitching with me like a shield. You just never know when you're going to be stuck somewhere with good lighting. :)

Your Shores is looking great! I have to agree that the mermaid looks so much better in a flesh tone than in white. I am more of a one at a time stitcher although right now, my main focus is a larger piece so I've been carting around a little bag with 2-3 smalls for travel stitching...lunchtime, etc. I prefer larger count for those since you can't ever count on the lighting being good.

Hi Nataly,

I would have have changed the mermaid too. Love the photo of the sunset. Only a few more months and summer will be here.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Good work on Shores! I can't imagine a white mermaid. I'm glad you made that change. It's nice to think summer thoughts for a change.
