LHN December Sampler finished and a Daisy update!

We have had a few days of rainy weather and what better thing to do than stitch.  I finished stitching this on Monday but didn't post until now because I was down with a cold for a few days.  I am feeling back to myself and when I look around me all I see are the things that need to be taken care of for Thanksgiving.  I will have 18 guests this year and I am looking forward to every single one.  As far as the work goes, well I will try to fit it in between stitching time.  Just Kidding!  I have already started ironing linens and polishing silverware.  The platters have been cleaned and the dishes are next.  I took a break and decided to update my blog.  The above piece is LHN Monthly Sampler - December.  It is stitched on 28ct Natural Linen.  You may not recognize this piece from others you have seen in blogland because I played a switcheroo.  I changed the house from red to blue.  All of my holiday decor is silver and blue hence the blue house.  I am so proud of the fact that I have stitched all of the monthly samplers in a relatively timely manner and I am doing a happy dance.  Diane has created a great monthly series and I loved stitching each one.

On the puppy front, Miss Daisy had a follow up vet visit today and she now weighs 39 lbs.  That is about 1/2 pound a day since her last visit.  I really can't believe it.  I knew having a Great Dane was going to be an adventure but I really can't believe how big, but extremely GENTLE she is.  In my last post, I showed a picture of her in a rocking chair which she had taken over and last weekend, as hard as she tried to climb in that chair she just couldn't fit.  She rested her head on the cushion, looked at me sadly as if to say "Mom, I just don't fit anymore."  Way too cute!!! Here is a pic!

Thanks for visiting.  Back to work for me.

Oh my goodness... Daisy is just precious. She is so very cute I can barely stand it !! Look at that face. I don't know if you know this website http://www.greatdanelady.com/ She is a Great Dane breeder with tons of information on nutrition and lots more. She is a great resource for me and, although I have two Golden Retrievers, I have learned tons from her about nutrition for doggies. I hope it helps you keep your doggie healthy for many years.

I just love that last photo of Daisy. Too funny. My Rory does that pose on occasions. Sometimes he finds that he can't get as comfortable as he did when he was a pup. Glad to hear that she is gaining weight. Keep up the good work.

I also love your LHN piece. Great finish!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I remember well when we had large gatherings like that. So much fun!

Those shots of Daisy are priceless!! Thanks for sharing them.
I love how you swapped the colour on your house. It suits me too since I decorate in blues and silver here as well.

I like your switcheroo. Poor Daisy is so cute with that pitiful look on her face. She doesn't realize that she is getting to be a big girl! 18 people for Thanksgiving - you go girl!

Your sampler looks great with the color change to suit your taste. I love all those little LHN pieces.

I'm tired just thinking of hosting 18 people for dinner! My hat is off to you for that.

Daisy looks so sweet. I guess she needs a bigger chair now!

Love your change to the blue house, Nataly--blue is my favorite color so I use it whenever I can, too!

Good luck with your Thanksgiving prep--I am doing some each day for the 23 guests that we are having... Baking is almost done (and frozen)--now on to getting the tables set and decorated!

Daisy is so pretty--love the photo of her with her head on the rocking chair!
