Stitched With Love Exchange

Wow, I can't believe it has been a month since my last post.  Life has definitely gotten in the way but I do see some stitching time coming my way in the next month so I hope to have more updates soon.  I wanted to share with you this lovely package I received from Becky.  I participated in the Stitched with Love exchange hosted by Lainey and the theme was Tea in the Garden.  I chose garden and I was spoiled.  She stitched a beautiful flower pillow with is finished with perfection.  I also got 4 wonderful charts, finishing fabrics, an assortment of threads, trims and linen and some great floral themed paper and sticky notes (These have come in handy at work)  Thanks Becky for a much needed surprise.

This is the package I put together for June.  I really went out of my comfort zone in the finishing aspect but I couldn't resist a gardening glove for a garden themed exchange.  The chart is from Prairie Schooler and I picked it up on one of my shopping trips with the girls.  It was in the clearance bin and I thought "This might come in handy".  Long story short, I did it!! I managed to create a stitched gardening glove.  I hope you enjoy it June!

Thanks Lainey for another great exchange.  I am currently working on my WIP : Blue Ribbon's Read Between the Lines.  I have a renewed interest in "getting it DONE" I promised myself no new starts until I can put this one on the books.  Do you keep track of your finishes??  I have started to journal/scrapbook my finishes.  I take a photo, write some notes, and sometimes include swatch of fabric etc.  Since I give alot of my stitching away I wanted to have a little momento.  I am curious to know if you do the same or similar.  Thanks for stopping by, and to all of my followers who have stuck in there with me during my absence, I send you a heartfelt THANK YOU!!  Happy Stitching!

I think of my blog as the record I keep of my finishes. When I started stitching 25 years ago, I had a paper version, but the 21st century version suits me better! Also, love the glove.

Oh I did love it Nataly , thank you.
Lovely exchange received.
Yes I started to keep a book last year for the first time, because I give most of my stitching away. hugs.

Great idea about keeping a journal. Not sure if I will keep a paper or electronic one.

Love the glove. You always do such great finishes, that's why I always read your blog.

Hi Nataly! The only true way I keep track of all my finishes is on my blog. Both exchanges are great. I told June on her blog how FABULOUS the garden glove you made is. Good for you. =)

I saw your darling glove finish on June's blog--what a wonderful job you did on it, Nataly! Such nice gifts both given and received...

I just began keeping a little notebook this year for my stitching--nothing fancy. Just start and finish dates, fabric and threads used (because I substitute A LOT!). It has come in very handy--wish I had started it years ago...

Lovely exchanges! I think the little gardening glove is absolutely adorable :) Re: keeping a journal - that's a very interesting question!

Personally, I never kept track of my stitching before I started blogging. Like you, I gave most of my work away ;) Last year, I began keeping all my finished patterns in a big zippered binder, with swatches of the fabric I used, floss clippings and written stitching and finishing notes on each project in it's own little plastic file folder page! It may seem silly when you start, but it really is very satisfying and encouraging how all the projects add up, and you can flip back through them :)

Happy to see you blogging again! Welcome back ;)

Beautiful exchanges. Your glove finish is fabulous!! Very creative.
I keep track of all my projects in a journal, listing fabrics, floss, designer and start & finish dates. I never used to do this but I started a couple of years ago when I couldn't remember details on some of my pieces. I also keep photos of all my finishes in another album.
