Labor Day Weekend

Another busy weekend behind us.  The weather forcasters missed this weekend.  They originally said rain for Sunday and Monday so Saturday we spent cleaning up after Tropical Storm Irene.  Lots of the branches that fell needed to be cut up and moved to the side of the road for the town to pick them up.  On Sunday we went to visit my parents.  We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed a swim at my brothers.  Um, no rain!  Today we visited the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island.  It's been a long time since we have all been together.  I think my oldest son enjoyed the zoo just as much as the youngest.  Um, no rain! I wish I could be wrong in a job 90% of the time and still have a job to go to but as a pharmacist that probably wouldn't have gone over well.  I did get some stitching time in but more importantly I organized my overdyed threads.  Cosmo was pretty overwhelmed with the process.  He was not too happy about me touching HIS threads

I managed to alphabetize them, placed them on large rings, and hung them on a pegboard system in my craft closet.  It's so fun to walk in there and see all of the beautiful colors.  I feel very accomplished:)  I hope you have had a productive weekend with lots of stitching!

Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Love Cosmo sleeping on the threads. You should have invited the kittens in to help also.

I am so glad Cosmo was letting you help with the threads, I have started to organize my threads myself I am tired of looking for the color I need so I have organized as you have alphabetizing is the only way to go.
I am glad you did noit have major damage due to Irene.
Blessings

Hi Nataly, those pics are just beautiful - Cosmo is a gorgeous cat!
I can tell you that we got all the rain that was forcasted for you. It has been raining non-stop since Saturday afternoon. No complaints here - my garden was wilting rapidly. We dropped from a hot 98 on Saturday to a chilly 63 today. We seem to never get everything reasonable (like temps in the 70:S...)
Congrats on organizing your stash - isn't that one of the best feelings?

LOL! Cosmo is just adorable. I keep my cats well away from my threads, they try to eat them!

I wish I'd had a productive long weekend. I haven't stitched since Saturday, and I miss it. I've been soooooooo tired though... I'm glad you had a good weekend, and glad there was no rain. Great pics of Cosmo with the flossies. Looks like you have some gorgeous ones!! (BTW, did you miss the memo that when you got a cat, everything in the house reverted ownership to him? It's ALL his!!) Hope you have a great week!!

Love the pictures of Cosmos! He looks quite comfy there amongst the floss. It must make a cozy bed.
I love your idea of the pegboard for displayingand storing your floss. It would definitely be very colourful!
